There is no perfect electrical cleaner. Some trichlor replacements clean well, but are slow drying. Others dry fast with no flash point, but are very expensive. What about something in between? Not everyone has flash point concerns. Some utilities are looking for an electrical cable cleaner with maximum solvency power that dries moderately fast, yet doesn't cost an arm and a leg. They'd even be willing to accept a low flash point to get it.

Got it. American Polywater introduces Type GP™ Electrical Cleaner to its SpliceMaster® family of cable cleaning products. Type GP™ is a powerful, cost-effective solvent. It has a moderately fast evaporation rate (faster than our Type HP™, slower than trichlor or our Type NF™ or Type TR™). It has no ozone-depletion potential or carcinogens and, like all SpliceMaster® Cleaners, leaves no residue. The trade-off is a low flash point, so GP™ is not suitable when sparks or flame are present. But it excels at cleaning cables, silicone greases, adhesives, and much more. GP™ is available in wipes, sprays, and bulk.
